Community message

THIS IS OUR COMMUNITY. THIS IS OUR FUTURE.

We have built so much together. Now we have an opportunity to invest in what comes next.

Dear friends,

Tuesday is the JCCV’s annual Giving Day. This year, I am asking you to invest in the future of Jewish Victoria.

We have built so much together.

We have thriving Jewish schools. On Rosh Hashana, more than 50 shules in Melbourne will open their doors. We are blessed with two world-class museums that tell our stories. We have a 115-year-old Yiddish cultural centre still innovating. Plus sporting clubs, youth movements, heimish services for our elders and so much more.

This is Jewish Victoria.

It is our community.

And we have so much to be proud of.

But we also know that being Jewish in Victoria has become more difficult.

With your support, the JCCV will be here in good times, and most importantly in difficult times.

We listen to what is happening across our community.

We bring organisations and leaders together.

We engage with schools, workplaces, police, government and the broader community.

We advocate for change.

We demand that the experiences of Jewish Victorians are heard where decisions are made.

But I don’t want our vision for Jewish Victoria to stop there.

I want our children and grandchildren to inherit a community that is safe, confident and thriving.

A community where they can go to a Jewish school, attend shule, play sport, build friendships, contribute to Victorian life and live proudly as Jews.

A community that doesn’t simply endure difficult times, but continues to grow and flourish through them.

That future will not happen by accident.

It requires leadership. It requires people and organisations working together. And it requires all of us to invest in the community we want to see.

That is why JCCV’s Giving Day matters.

Your support helps JCCV do the work that no one organisation can do alone. It helps us see the bigger picture, bring people together, advocate for our community and prepare for what comes next.

Please join me in shaping our future.

Because this is your community.
This is your future.
And it is one worth investing in.

Warmly,

Philip Zajac
