“Like you, I watched with alarm as Hezbollah supporters marched through the streets of Melbourne this weekend.

“We know that Hezbollah, and its supporters, have planned and perpetrated attacks on Jewish and Israeli targets around the world in the past.

“I have been in close communication with CSG over the weekend to understand any risks facing our community, particularly in the lead up to Rosh Hashana later this week.

“I have also written to the Premier and the Minister for Police to seek urgent reassurance that Victoria Police will be provided with the resources, powers and directions to keep Jewish Victorians safe.”

“I urge all Jewish Victorians to download the JEAP app to receive the latest information from CSG. I also strongly encourage everyone to continue participating in Jewish life over the High Holy Days with the knowledge that Jewish leaders and CSG are working with police to keep all our community safe.”
