WHAT IS THE JCCV ANTISEMITISM SUPPORT SERVICE?
It’s a referral service for Jewish Victorians who have experienced antisemitism. It provides practical guidance, advocacy, and referrals to available community services. This is not a reporting tool, rather, a service to help Jewish people navigate what happens after an antisemitic incident.

Our services are here for any Jewish person in Victoria affected by antisemitism. Here are some common scenarios we can assist with – though our support is not limited to these cases. If you’re unsure, reach out – we’re here to help.

FAQs
1. What is the JCCV Antisemitism Support initiative?
It’s a referral service for Jewish Victorians who have experienced antisemitism. It provides practical guidance, advocacy, and referrals to available community services. This is not a reporting tool, rather, a service to help Jewish people navigate what happens after an antisemitic incident.
2. Is this a place to report antisemitism?
No. All incidents must still be reported to CSG via JEAP or phone on 1300 000 274.
JCCV works closely with CSG, but our role is to support Jewish Victorians after a report is made, not to take the report itself.
3. Who can use this service?
Any Jewish person in Victoria who has experienced or been affected by antisemitism – in the workplace, at school or in public – and is looking for help, guidance, or action.
4. What kind of support is offered?
- Helping you document the incident that occurred.
- Supporting you to address antisemitism with a manager, school leader, event organiser etc. Attending meetings with you (where appropriate)
- Reviewing school or workplace policies
- Referrals to community-based mental health or welfare services.
- General advice on existing complaints mechanisms.
- Referrals to community legal services.
- Media or public awareness support (if appropriate and requested)
5. Do you offer legal advice?
No. In some instances, the JCCV may be able to make a referral to a community legal service but the JCCV cannot offer legal advice.
6. Will my case be kept confidential?
Yes. All case information is treated as confidential and stored securely. We will only share your information with your consent.
7. How do I contact the JCCV Antisemitism Support team?
First, please report the incident to CSG by calling 1300 000 274 or submitting a report via JEAP (Jewish Emergency App).
Once reported, CSG may refer your case to JCCV if additional support is needed.

8. What happens after I contact you?
You will speak with a JCCV staff member who will first understand your situation, explain how we can help, and work with you to create a plan of action or referrals tailored to your needs.
