Community message

Community message from JCCV President, Philip Zajac.

YOUR SUPPORT MATTERS

Since I was elected JCCV President in November, I have written to you nearly every week to support you with credible and useful information about the challenges facing us as Victorian Jews.

Now I am personally asking for your support for the JCCV’s Giving Day.

Since October 7, the JCCV has stepped up its efforts to support our community like never before. Our mission is clear: to ensure that Jewish Victorians can live a safe and proud Jewish life.

JCCV’S EXPANDED SERVICES AND INITIATIVES

COMMUNITY FORUMS: Hosted 4 community forums attended by more than 500 Jewish people addressing critical issues.

ADVOCACY: Engaged with federal government, state government including the Victorian Premier and 18 local councils to raise awareness around antisemitism in the community.

COORDINATION OF TASKFORCES: Led the coordination of community taskforces in the areas of school education, universities and interfaith to enhance cooperation and reduce duplication.

SUPPORT FOR EDUCATION: Supported 5 government schools, 3 universities, and over 100 teachers and academics with training.

CASE MANAGEMENT: Provided case management for 7 individual families with multiple children impacted by antisemitism.

HOW WE WILL USE THE FUNDS RAISED

COMMUNITY CASE MANAGEMENT
We are developing expanded case management capability to help community members impacted by antisemitism or discrimination. We want to better direct more Jewish people to the right place to address their situation, whether that is their employer, their school leader, their local council or a social worker.

ADVOCACY FOR THE COMMUNITY
We have to work harder and better to build relationships with Victorian Government and Opposition, Victorian local councils, Victorian statutory authorities and Victoria Police on behalf of the Jewish community. This will increase awareness of antisemitism and seek stronger responses.

PLEASE SUPPORT US TODAY

Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a difference. Your donation helps build a safer, more supportive environment for all Jewish Victorians.

I am deeply grateful for your ongoing support and involvement. Together, we can achieve so much more and continue to foster a thriving, resilient community.

Yours sincerely,
Philip
